Our instructor Joel Northrup is a POST certified firearms instructor and meets the new DOJ certification requirements for teaching CCW classes. Joel is also approved by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office as a CCW instructor. Additionally, our initial and renewal CCW classes meet the new DOJ training standards.
Currently we are offering CCW Training for residents in the following California Counties:
Shasta, Tehama, Trinity, Siskiyou, Lassen, Modoc, Glenn, Colusa, and the Cities of Red Bluff and Corning.
We also offer Florida, Arizona and other Non-Resident CCW Training.
CCW Classes
Initial CCW Training - $295
8 hours of classroom + 8 hours of range training
If you are applying for a CCW license for the first time (you do not currently have a CCW license), then you will need to choose both classroom dates and initial range training date. The Initial CCW Training fee is $280 + $15 range fee, and this includes all class material and targets (does not include ammo). Each student in the initial class will fire at minimum 150 rounds of ammunition. Limited quantities of ammunition are available for purchase at the range. Renewal CCW Training - $164
8 hours of classroom + range qualification
If you are renewing your existing CCW license, then you will need to choose both classroom dates and a renewal range qualification date. Each applicant for a renewal CCW will need to qualify with every gun that they want listed on their CCW (maximum of 5 guns). The Renewal CCW Training fee is $149 + $15 range fee and includes all class material and targets (does not include ammo). Each student in the renewal class will fire at minimum 20 rounds of ammunition per handgun listed on license. Limited quantities of ammunition are available for purchase at the range. Advanced Defensive Pistol Training – $200
We offer more advanced handgun training beyond the CCW class. In these 4 hour advanced handgun training classes students will learn and practice concepts, such as, drawing your handgun from concealment, reloading, clearing malfunctions, shooting while moving, shooting from cover and concealment, shooting from unconventional positions, close quarters shooting techniques and much more. Non-Resident CCW Training
The Firearms Academy of Redding offers the Florida, Arizona and other Non-Resident CCW Training. The course offered for the California CCW permit is also accepted by the state of Florida, Arizona and others.
