Redding CA CCW Classes

concealed-carry_optThe Redding CA CCW Classes hosted by the Firearms Academy of Redding are of the highest quality designed to teach the student the practical and legal use of a handgun in self defense. Over the past 30 years, the Firearms Academy of Redding has taught thousands of law abiding citizens in Northern California to protect themselves against violent crime. Our classes are approved by Shasta, Tehama, Siskiyou, Trinity and Lassen Counties. Additionally, our classes are certified by the National Rifle Association and approved for application for a non-resident Florida or Arizona CCW permit. Topics discussed include: firearms safety, personal safety & avoiding confrontations, developing a self defense mindset, how to respond to threats, how to carry concealed handguns, the legal use of deadly force and practical firearms range training. Nearly every student that takes a class with Firearms Instructor Joel Northrup says that they learned a LOT and enjoyed his teaching style while in the class. Word of mouth says it all!  Come and experience the best!  Please feel free to call or email if you would like more details on the content of the renewal or initial CCW classes.

Class fees are $75.00 for the renewal class and $150.00 for the initial class. Class fees include all class material, range fees, and targets. Each student in the initial class will fire approximately 150 rounds of ammunition. Please click Register Now, for up coming dates, times and information on how to register for a class.

PLEASE NOTE: The classroom portion of the training for initial and renewal now takes place online via ZOOM! All students will participate from their own home or office. The Range Training Sessions will occur in person at the range as planned.

Once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, in person classroom training is held in a classroom at the Shasta Bible College 2951 Goodwater Ave. (located right on the corner of Hartnell Ave. and Goodwater Ave.)

If you are renewing your existing CCW license, then in addition to the first class date, you will also need to choose a “Renewal Range Qualification” date. Effective January 1, 2019, each applicant for a renewal CCW will need to qualify with every gun that they want listed on their CCW (maximum of 5 guns).
If you are applying for a CCW license for the first time (you do not currently have a CCW license) then you will also need to choose an “Initial Range Training” date.
